I have been a licensed USCG Engineer since 2002 and a Professional 100-ton USCG Captain since 2007, with over 30 years of maritime and boating experience.   As a native of New England, I grew up learning my way around a boat with my family during our annual summer vacations to Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.  At the age of 10, I learned how to sail at Regatta Point Community Sailing in Worcester, MA, where I quickly excelled and began teaching sailing lessons to adults and kids, while also maintaining the diverse fleet of sail and power boats.

I spent my college years studying and training at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, sailing aboard the 565' school ship T/S Empire State, and the 895' LNG Gemini.  It was during this time that I made my first Transatlantic and Equator crossings.  During my time at MMA, I also sailed competitively in dingys and keel boats up to 44', graduating in 2002 as the Valedictorian with a B.S. in Marine Engineering.

The next five years were spent as a submarine Officer in the United States Navy aboard the 362' Los Angeles Class submarine USS Providence.  This was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life where I was truly able to develop my leadership and ship handling skills, as well as complete a circumnavigation of the globe which included transits through the Suez and Panama Canals.

After my Naval career, I chose to bring life shore side to start a family.  Since then, I have excelled in a well balanced mix of shore side professional engineering and leadership positions in the oil and gas industry, as well as continued professional and recreational maritime experience.  I have completed hundreds of sailing lessons and charters on vessels ranging from 24' to 66', including several week long Caribbean charters to over a dozen islands.  During this time I have also crewed and operated several privately owned sail and power yachts up to and over 100'.

As a professional Captain, Engineer, and mariner with a diverse array of experience from the coasts of Maine to the Caribbean, I look forward to meeting you and the opportunity to join you in your own maritime adventures!
